Loki Where Mischief Lies and its connection to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (Cate)

Loki Where Mischief Lies by Mackenzi Lee, is a book that follows the young childhood of the Marvel character Loki. This book shows parts of the teenage years of the character Loki that the Marvel Cinematic Universe never shows. This book starts out with a teenage Loki and his friend Amora breaking a valuable magic mirror hidden in Asgards hidden vault. The book seems to follow Loki looking for his friend Amora on Earth, though I have not finished the book.

This book so far has been great, for me as a fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Loki is a great and complicated character in the marvel cinematic universe, and this shows his teenage years more in depth. Loki is a character the MCU is working on introducing more of by creating his own show Loki, and this book as an extension of his story.

Overall, I think this is a great book for MCU fans that would like to read more about this character. We learn more about who he was as a teenager and how he has grown and changed to be the character many people know from the MCU. We see the experiences he had along with challenges he faced growing up and how they change the character widely known from the MCU.

  1. Hi Cate! I think it's interesting that the writers chose to focus on Loki's teenage years. I recently watched the Loki series on Netflix (season 1), and it seems quite interesting. Then again, I haven't seen a lot of the marvel movies. I wonder how much Loki's teenage years affected where he is currently and whether the book ties in to the Loki series.

  2. Hello! I am also a big fan of the MCU and Loki is one of my favorite characters because his character is so complex yet entertaining. Throughout the MCU we have seen more and more of Loki as you mentioned in your blog but I am very interested as to what his teenage years would have looked like. I think that "Loki Where Mischief Lies" sounds like a really interesting book.

  4. I haven't actually heard of this book until now, but it seems super interesting. I also keep up with the MCU to a certain extent, so this plot seems especially interesting to me. I find it super cool that the plot follows his backstory, as this would probably make the later movies a lot more compelling since we'll know more about his character.
